I used FEMM to perform an axisymmetrical simulation of a cross section of the 24:3 turn planar transformer design

This board was made for the University of Waterloo's Midnight Sun solar vehicle team. The team needed an efficient way to convert their max. 153V battery pack voltage into a low voltage (12V) bus to power ECUs and peripherals. After using off the shelf parts for decades, we wanted to be able to reduce reliance on uncertain sponsorships, and build our own in-house design.
